Virtual Consultation
Virtual consultations are becoming increasingly popular for patients seeking advice, support and guidance. For people who are comfortable with technology, a virtual consultation provides fast and convenient access to specialists without the need to travel or be on a waiting list for a face to face appointment.
Many patients report benefiting from in depth discussions about their condition, how best to manage it, weighing up treatment options or simply going through a list of questions they have.
Can all appointments be via video consultation? |
|
| Virtual consultations for wound, lipoedema or lymphoedema conditions work well. However, if a treatment needs to be provided or the condition is too complex, a face to face appointment will be recommended instead. |
How does it work? |
|
| At Pioneer, a video call link is sent to the patient via email or SMS text for an agreed date and time with the most appropriate clinician for their condition.
Some patients prefer a normal telephone call rather than a video consultation. Please make us aware of your preference when booking your appointment. |
Do I need particular software? |
|
| No, you do not need to download any particular software. When you click on the link the call will automatically open and your clinician will begin the call.
A smartphone or tablet with a reliable camera is required for video consultations. Preparing for the video consultation
